The Trento scavenger hunt starts on Piazza Dante near the station and leads to Buonconsiglio Castle, Port’Aquila and Piazza Venezia. Via Palazzo Thun and Santa Maria Maggiore you reach Piazza del Duomo and the Cathedral of San Vigilio, then continue to the MUSE science museum and finish at Palazzo delle Albere.

Surrounded by mountains, Trento was ruled for centuries by prince-bishops from Buonconsiglio Castle, whose Torre Aquila holds the famous frescoes of the Cycle of the Months. From 1545 to 1563 the city hosted the Council of Trent, which met in the cathedral and in Santa Maria Maggiore, and today Renzo Piano’s MUSE adds modern architecture beside the river Adige.
