The Benidorm City Guides tell you what most visitors only work out on their last day: where Spanish families eat rice and seafood, which old town bars lay out pintxos on the counter, how to reach the Cross and the coves on foot and how far the tram takes you along the Costa Blanca. Each guide is a short, opinionated list with the reason to go, what to order or bring and one practical tip for every place, and it opens in your browser the moment you pay.

Things to do guide
24 places
Old town viewpoints, quiet coves, the boat to Benidorm Island, headland walks to the Cross and an old watchtower, theme parks and towns along the coast.
Family guide
25 places
Free playgrounds, calm coves for small swimmers, sea lions and water parks, a chocolate factory and treats children actually eat.
Nightlife guide
26 places
Pintxos and wine in the old town, cocktail bars on Calle Santa Faç, cabaret and rock bars on the Strip, rooftops at sunset and the big clubs.
Day trips guide
22 places
Beaches in town and close by, Altea, Calpe and Dénia by tram, Alicante and Elche, then mountain villages, waterfalls and islands.
Budget guide

Three places from the guides
Restaurante Ulia
Avenida Vicente Llorca Alós, Poniente seafront
A rice house that has stood on Poniente beach for years, cooking paella, arroz a banda and fideuà to order in wide, thin pans the Valencian way. Come without a rush, because good rice takes its time. From the food guide.
La Cruz de Benidorm
Serra Gelada, above Rincón de Loix
The white cross on the ridge over Levante gives the widest view in town: the towers, both bays and the island. The quiet road up is steep and takes half an hour or more, so set off early with water. From the things to do guide.
Les Cases de Colors
La Vila Joiosa, TRAM line 1, about 20 min
A row of fishermen’s houses painted in bold colours above the beach, so the story goes, to help sailors pick out home from the sea. Villajoyosa is a working town and far calmer than Benidorm. From the day trips guide.
Plan your Benidorm days
Day one: the old town headland and the Mirador del Castell in the morning, a swim at Cala del Mal Pas, pintxos on Calle Santo Domingo for lunch, then sunset on the Poniente promenade. Day two: walk up to the Cross early while it is cool, spend the afternoon on Levante and end with cocktails in the old town or a show on the Strip. For a slow or grey day, take TRAM line 9 to Altea’s old town or line 1 to Villajoyosa for the painted houses and the Valor chocolate museum.
