The Ischia City Guides deal with what every visitor to the island ends up asking: where to try rabbit cooked the island way, which thermal park earns its ticket and where the hot water is free, which bays are calm enough for small children and how to fit Procida or Capri into a week here. Each guide is a short, honest list that explains why a place deserves your time, what to order or look at and one practical tip, and it opens in your browser the moment you have paid.

Three places from the guides
Bar Calise
Piazza degli Eroi, Ischia Porto
The pastry café everyone on the island knows, set in a garden on the main square and open from breakfast until late. Stand at the counter for a coffee with a babà or a sfogliatella for about €3, or come back for gelato after dinner. From the food guide.
Forio – Bay of Sorgeto
Panza, Forio
Hot springs bubble up among the rocks of this cove and mix with the sea, so you find your temperature by shifting a metre either way. It costs nothing, never closes and islanders swim here in winter too. Wear water shoes. From the things to do guide.
Marina di Corricella
Procida, 15–25 min by boat
Pastel houses piled above the fishing boats make this harbour on Procida the backdrop of Il Postino. The island next door is smaller, calmer and cheaper than Ischia, and the crossing is short enough for an easy day in any season. From the beaches and day trips guide.
Plan your days on Ischia
Day one: start in Ischia Ponte, cross the causeway to the Aragonese Castle, look into the little sea museum, buy a pane cafone sandwich for lunch and swim at Cartaromana facing the castle. Day two: take the bus west to Forio for La Mortella in the morning, spend the afternoon in the pools of Poseidon at Citara and watch the sun go down from the Soccorso church. For a rainy or slow day, see Nestor’s Cup at Villa Arbusto in Lacco Ameno, have coffee and babà at Bar Calise, book a cellar tasting near the port and end with a warm soak in the sea at Sorgeto, which works even in winter.
