The Lisse City Guides answer what every visitor to the bulb region ends up asking: when the fields really flower and which farms let you walk among the tulips, how to see Keukenhof without the coach crowds, where to find kibbeling on the coast or a good steak in the village, and what to do with children when the rain sets in. Each guide is a short, honest list that tells you why a place is worth your time, what to order or look for and one useful tip, and it opens in your browser the moment you have paid.

Three places from the guides
Evi Deli
Heereweg, Lisse centre
Farmhouse plates that never match, sandwiches built big, breakfast, apple pie and beer from nearby brewers. Ask the family behind the counter which fields are in flower that week; lunch comes to about €12. From the food guide.
Huys Dever
Heereweg, south side of Lisse
A brick tower house from the late 1300s that you climb floor by floor, from the old bakehouse in the cellar up to the roof. Volunteer guides show you round in English, and in spring the bulb fields start just over the road. From the things to do guide.
AWD entrance Panneland
Vogelenzangseduinweg, by De Zilk
The southern way into the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, where fallow deer graze a few metres from the paths and children often count dozens within 20 minutes. A day permit is about €1.50 for adults, and you are free to leave the paths. From the family guide.
Plan your days in Lisse
Day one, in spring: take the first timed slot at Keukenhof gardens, then rent a bike and ride the lanes to Tulip Experience Amsterdam or De Tulperij, where you may walk between the rows, and finish with a booked dinner on Lisse’s Heereweg. Out of season, swap the gardens for the woods of the castle estate. Day two: climb Huys Dever, cycle on to the Ruins of Teylingen and Warmond for an electric boat on the Kagerplassen, or ride to Noordwijk for the beach, the lighthouse and a portion of kibbeling. For a rainy or slow day, pair the Black Tulip museum with Space Expo in Noordwijk or Naturalis in Leiden, then wait out the showers over cake at the Hofboerderij.
