The Nafplio City Guides answer the questions every visitor has: which tavernas just back from the seafront are worth it, how to see Palamidi without climbing the 999 steps at midday, when to head out to Mycenae and Epidaurus, and where the evening goes after a sunset walk. Each guide is a short, opinionated list with the reason to go, what to order or look for and one practical tip for every place, and it opens in your browser as soon as you pay.

Three places from the guides
Ta Fanaria
Bouboulinas 69, seafront, Old Town end
Forty years under the same owner and still cooking the basics with care: pork chop off the grill, sardines, octopus and lentil soup. Order a half-litre of house wine and nobody will hurry you. From the food guide.
Arvanitias
Coastal path under the Acronauplia rock
A flat, paved path that hugs the foot of the cliff for 1.5 km and rounds the rock to a small pebble beach, with the Bourtzi out in the bay. The easiest good walk in town. From the things to do guide.
Ancient Theatre at the Asklepieion of Epidaurus
30 km east, about 45 min by car
The best-kept theatre of ancient Greece, built in the 4th century BC for some 13,000 spectators. Drop a coin on the stage and hear it from the top row. One ticket also opens the sanctuary and the museum. From the day trips guide.
Plan your days in Nafplio
Day one: the sea path below Acronauplia in the morning, Palamidi by taxi with the steps saved for the way down, then dinner one street back from the seafront and a glass in an old-town wine bar. Day two: an early start for Mycenae or Epidaurus, lunch in Mycenae village and the afternoon on the sand at Tolo or Karathona. For a rainy or slow day: the Archaeological Museum and the folk museum, the indoor playground if you have children, a bakery pie and a long meze lunch.
