The St. Moritz City Guides answer what every trip to the Engadine raises: where to eat capuns and Nusstorte without paying for the famous name, which lift is worth the fare on a clear morning, how to reach the Morteratsch glacier or the car-free Val Roseg by train and on foot, and which grand hotel bar deserves one well-dressed drink. Each guide is a short, honest list that tells you why a place earns its spot, what to order or look at and one practical tip, and it opens in your browser the moment you have paid.

Three places from the guides
Albergo Ristorante Alp Grüm
Alp Grüm station, Bernina line
No road leads here, only the train and the footpath, and the dining room hangs above the Palü glacier and its lake. The kitchen already belongs to Italian-speaking Valposchiavo: order the pizzoccheri, buckwheat pasta with cabbage and cheese, or the dish of the day. From the food guide.
Morteratsch Gletscherzunge
From Morteratsch station, Bernina line
A level walk of about 3 km from the platform to the end of the ice. Markers beside the path show where the glacier reached in each year since the 1870s, and the distance between them says more about a warming climate than any exhibition. It costs nothing. From the things to do guide.
Pitschna Scena
Hotel Saratz, Pontresina, 8 min by train
The Romansh name means little stage, and in season there is often music to match. This is where Pontresina spends its evenings: order capuns, the local dumplings wrapped in chard, right at the bar. From the nightlife guide.
Plan your days in St. Moritz
Day one: walk the path around Lake St. Moritz, give an hour to Segantini’s Alpine Triptych at his museum, then ride the funicular up Muottas Muragl and follow the panorama path to the Segantinihütte, facing the Bernina glaciers. Finish with après-ski at the Schweizerhof or a beer at Bobby’s Pub. Day two: take the regional train up the Bernina line, walk from Morteratsch station to the glacier snout, carry on to Alp Grüm for pizzoccheri above the Palü glacier and come back for dinner and music in Pontresina. For a rainy or slow day, take the bus to Sils Maria for the Nietzsche-Haus and the Chastè peninsula, then tea at Waldhaus Sils, or ride down the valley to the mineral baths in Scuol.
