The Copenhagen scavenger hunt starts at City Hall and leads to the Church of Our Lady and the Round Tower. You continue along Strøget to Christiansborg Palace and the Royal Danish Theatre’s Old Stage, then walk along Nyhavn and over the Nyhavn Bridge to Amalienborg Palace and finish at Frederik’s Church, better known as the Marble Church.
The route covers about 3.9 km, roughly 48 minutes of walking. You can start anywhere or change the order in the app, with Google Maps guiding you. No entry tickets are needed: every riddle uses the outside of the buildings.
Copenhagen’s centre is flat and compact, which makes it easy to explore on foot. Several landmarks on the route go back to King Christian IV in the 17th century, including the Round Tower with its spiral ramp instead of stairs. Christiansborg is home to the Danish Parliament, Hans Christian Andersen lived in Nyhavn, and the royal family still lives at Amalienborg.
