The route: from Republic Square to the Hıdırlık Tower
The Antalya scavenger hunt starts at Republic Square and enters Kaleiçi via the Toy Museum and the İskele Mosque by the old harbour. Next come the Yivli Minare Mosque, the Attalos Monument and the Clock Tower; then you pass through Hadrian’s Gate to the Yenikapı Greek Orthodox Church and the Atatürk House Museum, finishing at the Hıdırlık Tower beside Karaalioğlu Park.
The route covers about 3 km, roughly 40 minutes of walking. You can start anywhere or change the order in the app, with Google Maps guiding you. No entry tickets are needed: every riddle uses the outside of the buildings.

Why explore Antalya with a city game
Antalya was founded in the 2nd century BC by King Attalos II of Pergamon. Its walled old town, Kaleiçi, wraps around the Roman harbour, with Ottoman houses with wooden bay windows, Hadrian’s Gate, built for the emperor’s visit in 130 AD, and the fluted Seljuk minaret of the Yivli Minare. From Karaalioğlu Park you look across the bay to the Taurus Mountains.
A game makes you look closely at arches, inscriptions and façades you would otherwise miss, and the stories explain what you see. Everyone plays on their own phone, with no schedule and as many tea stops in Kaleiçi as you like.
- Start in the early morning or late afternoon; the midday heat in summer makes walking hard work.
- Start the escape game in daylight; with the hunt, reach the Hıdırlık Tower around sunset for the sea view.
- Bring water, a charged phone, a power bank and comfortable shoes for Kaleiçi’s cobbled, sloping lanes.
- Finish with a meal at the old harbour or a rest in the shade of Karaalioğlu Park.
