The Positano City Guides answer what everyone asks once they arrive: where to have a beach lunch without a shock on the bill, how to reach the family kitchens up in Montepertuso and Nocelle without climbing, which beach is better than the crowded main one, where to sit at sunset and how to get to Amalfi, Ravello or Capri by bus or ferry. Each guide is a short, honest list that tells you why a place deserves your time, what to order or look for and one useful tip, and it opens in your browser as soon as you have paid.

Three places from the guides
Donna Rosa
Via Gradoni, Montepertuso
Rosa’s daughter and granddaughter now run this family trattoria, and its tiny kitchen makes the best fresh pasta for miles around: ravioli, fettuccine bolognese and a tiramisù spooned out of the dish at your table. From the food guide.
Fornillo Beach
Ten minutes on foot west of the pier
The beach Positano people choose for themselves: smaller, calmer and cheaper than the main one, with clearer water and a free stretch at the far end. Two family beach clubs and a couple of snack bars take care of the rest. From the things to do guide.
Africana Famous Club
Marina di Praia, Praiano, 15 min by taxi
People have danced in this sea cave below the Praiano road since the early 1960s, over a glass floor with the water moving underneath. It serves dinner too, and it is the night out the whole coast knows, with a better crowd than the club in town. From the nightlife guide.
Plan your days in Positano
Day one: swim early at Spiaggia Grande, follow the flat cliff path past the watchtower to Fornillo, spend the afternoon around the church and the linen shops, then take a sunset drink at Franco’s Bar and dinner in town. Day two: ride the SITA bus up to Bomerano, walk the Path of the Gods to Nocelle and stay up the mountain for dinner in Montepertuso, where the restaurant shuttle brings you back down. For a rainy or slow day, take the bus to Amalfi for the cathedral, the cloister and the crypt, continue to the gardens of Ravello, or let the free boat carry you to a long lunch on Laurito beach.
