From the tender landing to Korčula Old Town

  1. Small cruise ships moor right at the old town on the west and east town quays, sometimes several side by side in the eastern harbour. Larger ships anchor off Korčula Town and tender passengers to the town quay, next to the old town walls.
  2. From the landing, walk towards the big round tower and follow the town wall round to the Land Gate (Revelin Tower), the main entrance to the old town.
  3. Climb the staircase through the Land Gate into the old town. From the landing it takes only a few minutes, and from here every sight is within easy walking distance.

Tips for Korčula when time is short

  • The old town is tiny: a walk round the main sights is about 1 km, so even a short port day is enough.
  • Lanes are narrow and often stepped, the Land Gate is reached by a staircase and there is a short climb to St Mark's Cathedral, so wear comfortable shoes.
  • You can't get lost: every side street ends at the sea, and the street along the sea walls is wide and shaded.
  • If your ship anchors, allow for tender queues on the way back before all-aboard time.
  • In high season, water taxis leave from the east harbour for Badija Island, Lumbarda and Orebić. Load our city guides before you land so they work offline.

Why take our city guides ashore

  • They work offline, so you don’t need mobile data or roaming in port.
  • All our guides for the city in one place, from where to eat to what to see.
  • A short list of places worth your limited time, with a tip for each one.
  • Buy before you sail and open them on your phone as soon as you step ashore.

Korčula cruise stop: questions

Do cruise ships tender in Korčula?

Larger ships anchor offshore and tender passengers to the town quay; small ships can moor directly at the town harbour.

Is Korčula old town walkable from where the tender lands?

Yes. The landing is right beside the town walls; you walk round the walls to the Land Gate and climb its stairs into the old town in a few minutes.

How long do I need to see Korčula old town?

A couple of hours is enough. The old town is very compact: a walking route covering ten main sights is only about 1 km long.

Can I visit Badija or Orebić on a Korčula port day?

In high season, water taxis leave from the east harbour for Badija Island, Lumbarda and Orebić. Keep enough time to get back to the landing, and to the tender queue, before all-aboard time.

Do the city guides work without mobile data?

Can I buy just one guide?

Yes. You can choose a single guide, such as the food guide, or all guides for the city.
