Yes, Oslo works on a cruise stop if you head off straight away. Most ships dock at Revierkaia by the Opera House, and our scavenger hunt starts at Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), about 5-10 minutes' walk away. The hunt takes about 3 hours and ends at Frogner Park in the west, so allow time for tram 12, bus 20 or a taxi back. On a normal port day it fits if you go straight there.

Price range: 4.99 € through 19.99 €From Revierkaia to Oslo Central Station
- Check which quay your ship uses. Revierkaia, where most ships dock, is closest to the start; Søndre Akershuskai and Vippetangkaia lie below Akershus Fortress, and Filipstad is west of Aker Brygge.
- From Revierkaia, walk north away from the fjord along the harbour promenade with the Opera House on your right. Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) is about 5-10 minutes away.
- From Søndre Akershuskai or Vippetangkaia, walk east along the waterfront past Akershus Fortress to Oslo S, about 1.3 km or 20 minutes.
- From Filipstad it is about 40 minutes on foot past Aker Brygge and City Hall, so a taxi from the quay (about 10 minutes) saves time. At the station, open the app and start the first riddle.

- 3:10Finish at Frogner Park (Vigeland Park). Toilets are near the main entrance of the Vigeland Museum.
- 3:20Ride back towards the centre by tram 12 or bus 20, or take a taxi straight to your quay.

Tips for Oslo when time is short
- The hunt ends at Frogner Park, several kilometres from the ship, so plan the return by tram 12, bus 20 or taxi before you set off.
- Know your quay: Revierkaia is minutes from the start, while Filipstad is about 40 minutes' walk away.
- Karl Johans gate, the main pedestrian street, rises gently from the station towards the Royal Palace, so wear comfortable shoes.
- The Vigeland Museum next to the park has toilets near its main entrance, handy at the finish.
- Your ticket has no time limit: if the day gets tight, pause the game and finish it on a later visit.
- Count back from all-aboard time and keep at least an hour for the trip back from Frogner Park.
Why a self-guided game works on a port day
- You start when you step off the ship, not at a fixed tour time, and nobody waits for a group.
- Everyone in your party can follow on their own phone with one booking reference.
- You can stop for lunch or a swim and carry on later, and end the game whenever you need to head back.
- Google Maps guides you from stop to stop, and the game needs no entry tickets.
Oslo cruise stop: questions
Is Oslo city centre walkable from the cruise ship?
Yes. Revierkaia, where most ships dock, is a few minutes' walk from Oslo Central Station; the Akershus quays are about 20 minutes away and Filipstad about 40 minutes.
How do I get back from Frogner Park to the ship?
Tram 12 and bus 20 serve Frogner Park (Vigeland Park); ride back towards the centre, or take a taxi straight to your quay.
Do ships tender in Oslo?
Normally not. Oslo has four central cruise quays, Filipstad, Søndre Akershuskai, Vippetangkaia and Revierkaia, so ships dock alongside.
Is there enough time for the hunt on an Oslo port day?
Usually yes, if you go straight to the start. The hunt takes about 3 hours; add the short walk to Oslo S, the ride back from Frogner Park and at least an hour before all-aboard time.
Do I need to book a time slot?
No. You book online, receive your booking reference by email straight away and start whenever you are ashore. The ticket has no time limit, so it still works if your ship arrives late or your plans change.
What do we need on the day?
A charged smartphone with mobile data, the World City Trail app from the App Store or Google Play, and your booking reference. A power bank helps on a long port day.
Port and transport details checked in November 2026. Docking positions and timetables change, so always check your ship’s all-aboard time and your cruise line’s port information before you set off.
