Why explore Wrocław with a city game
Wrocław spreads across islands and bridges on the Oder, and its history is unusually layered: Bohemian, Habsburg, Prussian and German as Breslau, then Polish since 1945. The Market Square with its Gothic Town Hall is one of the largest in Europe, on Ostrów Tumski a lamplighter still lights the gas lamps by hand, and hundreds of small bronze dwarfs hide all over the city.
A city game turns sightseeing into a shared challenge. You have to observe to find each answer, so you remember far more than from a guidebook, and the stories and local legends bring every stop to life. There is no tour time to meet: start, pause and finish whenever it suits you.
- Start in the afternoon and plan to reach Ostrów Tumski around dusk, when the gas lamps are lit by hand.
- Start the escape game in daylight; its puzzles rely on details on the façades.
- Pack a power bank and wear comfortable shoes; the game runs on your phone.
- Count the bronze dwarfs you spot along the way, and book the Racławice Panorama near the National Museum separately.
