Ljubljana is known as the City of Dragons, and legend says it all began with the Greek hero Jason and his Argonauts. After stealing the Golden Fleece, they fled across the Danube and the Sava, eventually reaching the source of the Ljubljanica river. There, they encountered a terrifying marsh dragon. In a great battle, Jason defeated the beast, and the dragon eventually became the city’s protector rather than its enemy. Today, four dragons still stand guard on the Zmajski Most (Dragon Bridge).
