Later, it was renamed Karaalioğlu, derived from the surname of one of the landowners on whose property the park was established. The park covers an impressive area, approximately 140,000 square meters (or 14 hectares), stretching for several hundred meters along the clifftops south of Kaleiçi.

Prior to its formal establishment as a park, this coastal stretch served as a recreation area throughout the early 20th century, already featuring popular gathering spots like the Attalos Club and Leski Coffeehouse. The vision to formalize and expand this green space into a grand public park came under the leadership of Mayor Haşim İşcan, aiming to provide Antalya’s growing population with a beautiful and accessible recreational area.
