What it costs

One ticket covers one player, and you buy the number of tickets you need in a single purchase. The price per person drops as the group grows.

Players Per person Total
1€15€15
2€9€18
3€8€24
4 or more€7from €28

There are no entry fees to any site on the route, nothing to print, and no equipment to collect. Everyone in the group can follow along on their own phone, in one team or split into competing teams. We suggest a maximum of five players per team.

Three ways to explore a city

Every city offers three different products. They share the same app and the same landmarks, but they are built for different moods.

Scavenger hunt

A puzzle-led route between 10 landmarks. At each stop you solve a location-based riddle to unlock the next destination. No prior knowledge is needed, just observation and a bit of lateral thinking. Best for groups, families with older children, and anyone who finds a plain walking tour too passive.

Outdoor escape game

The same city, played as a story. Instead of standalone riddles you work through a connected narrative with a goal to reach. It is an escape room without the room, where the city itself is the puzzle. Best for friends, couples and corporate teams.

Self-guided walking audio tour

No puzzles. An optimised walking route with audio narration at each landmark, telling you the history, the legends and the details you would otherwise walk past. Best for solo travellers, slower mornings, and anyone who would rather listen than solve.

All three take 2 to 3 hours at a normal pace, stay within the historic centre, and can be paused and resumed whenever you like.

How it works

  1. Buy a ticket for the city and product you want. Your booking reference arrives by email straight away.
  2. Download the World City Trail app from the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Enter your booking reference and choose your starting point. You can reorder the checkpoints to suit where you are staying or what time you are eating.
  4. Start whenever you want. There is no scheduled time, no guide waiting, and no expiry date on your ticket.

You will need a charged smartphone with mobile data and comfortable shoes. The games do not work offline.

Who it is for

Families — the puzzles work across mixed ages, and being able to stop for lunch without losing your place matters more than you would think with children.

Couples and friends — a shared activity that is not sitting in a bar, and one that takes you through parts of a city you would not otherwise find.

Corporate teams — team building that does not feel like team building. Groups split into teams and compare results at the end.

Schools and student groups — discounted pricing is available for school trips, with games suitable for students aged 12 and over.

Solo travellers — the audio tour works particularly well alone, and costs considerably less than a guided alternative.
