The stunning sight that covers the historic clock tower, as well as the illuminated buildings climbing a light hill, make the view even more amazing. There is also a Court House of Knights located here that was built in the early 16th century.
Marine gate
It is another important gate of Old town. This gate was the main entrance to the harbor to Rhodes. It was dates back to the ending quarter of the 15th century. It gave us a tour, telling us about the relevance of different landmarks, and the clues were intertwined into the history nicely. Nice puzzles! Most of the answers are easy to answer with inscriptions on site or through logical thinking, but with others you have to think a little before you come up with the solution. The so-called “optimized route” definitely needs improvement in the last three stations and it is advisable to look at the Google Maps map to choose the next point sensibly. All in all a nice tour that covers most of the important sights in Rhodes Town and provides nice background information and stories. But not necessarily worth the price of €13 for the 1.5 hour walk.

Disappointed that although my husband and I had logged into the same trail we had different clues for one of the destinations – I had a secret destination and he didn’t. Also the clue with the Latin phrase was incorrect as GENESIS – and very difficult to see the last letters on the stone (even taking a photo and zooming). Also very hard to look at picture clues which were rotated- especially the jigsaw clue. The last clue showed a picture which was not representative of the actual statues on the gate and was misleading.

Schöne Rätsel! Die meisten Antworten sind mit Inschriften vor Ort oder durch logisches Denken recht einfach zu beantworten, bei anderen muss man doch ein wenig überlegen bis man den Lösungsansatz hat. Die sogenannte “optimierte Route” hat bei den letzten 3 Stationen durchaus Verbesserungsbedarf und es empfiehlt sich die Google Maps Karte anzuschauen um den nächsten Punkt sinnvoll zu wählen. Alles im allen eine schöne Tour, die die meisten wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten in Rhodos Stadt abklappert und schöne Hintergrundinformationen und Geschichten liefert. This self guided walking tour had lots of information for those who want to know absolutely everything. The clues were sometimes difficult to understand, but we eventually got the hang of it and it became a competition to see who could resolve the clue first. The scavenger hunt was really fun. The stories were interesting and informative. Some riddles were easy, some others were more difficult and you had to think out of the box.If you struggle to find the answer, use the hints which will lead you. Eine spannende kleine Schatzsuche durch die OldTown von Rhodos. Manche Rätsel waren knifflig was für Rätselfreunde ja gut ist. Genial war das wir die ganze Zeit an der frischen Luft waren und das Spiel jederzeit pausieren konnten um einen Cafe und ein leckeres Mittagessen über den Dächern von Rhodos geniessen zu können.
